Something that shouldn't have been invented

 Nowadays, there are lots of things that seem like a terrible idea from the outside. However, as you look closer, you can find an explanation as to why it isn't that bad. Personally, I believe in life there is a reason for everything, so finding something that shouldn't have been invented at all is not easy... 

For example, we could say social media shouldn't exist. At the end of the day, our kids have become addicted to it. They are always on their phones, disconnected entirely from the world, and therefore they have lost great part of their ability to have fun outside the Internet. They are more worried about the image they project onto the world through their social platforms than about the life that they actually have. Everything would be way easier if these apps, smartphones and plenty of other electronic devices hadn't been created at all. However, the answer is not to erase these technological advances from our lives. The problem is not with social media but rather with how we make use of it. Everything is good in moderation. 

In my opinion, the problem with platforms like Instagram, Facebook or TikTok is the toxicity they bring with them. More and more, young kids are gifted with a phone before they are even 10 years old. By the time they are 12, they have all sorts of accounts on different platforms, that show them information they are not ready to process at that age. Young girls see models everywhere and think that they have to look like them. Children watch gamers sitting in front of a computer all day, just playing videogames, and earning millions for it. Influencers have a big role on this issue too. On platforms like TikTok, they create "trends" so that their followers act like them. It can be as innocent as a little dance, or as dangerous as getting on top of a skyscraper to take a picture. Lots of people have died because of these trends. It's true that people should learn not to believe everything they see online, but as the pressure that today's society puts on increases, the task of remaining unaffected becomes harder.

In conclusion. what I feel that shouldn't have been invented are all trends that can put someone in any kind of danger. I don't know who in their right mind thinks it's just be fun to influence people to risk their lives. If you want to put yourself in danger, it's on you, but don't tell people to be as stupid as you are.
